Donate to Your Refuge!
We have entered a new era of conservation. As urban centers grow, natural habitats and the unique species that inhabit them shrink. It is more important than ever to connect urban spaces and natural habitat. Valle de Oro National Wildlife Refuge represents an evolution in the National Wildlife Refuge System’s approach to wildlife conservation. By restoring natural habitat on 570-acres in an urban area less than 10 miles south of Albuquerque’s Downtown, as well as working collaboratively with the immediate community it affects, Valle de Oro NWR and the Friends are championing a new conservation ethic for the future.
Join us in supporting these future conservation stewards and opportunities for our youth to experience and learn about the natural world by donating to the Friends of Valle de Oro NWR today. Your donations help pay for buses, programs, and events so all students and youth have access to the opportunity to visit, experience, and have a hand in restoring and growing our National Wildlife Refuge for future generations and our wildlife neighbors to enjoy a place of refuge!
Your Donation of $5,000 will provide four classes with a semester-long program of quality science curriculum and repeat visits to the Refuge.
Your Donation of $4,000 will provide environmental educators with a small stipend to work with four classes of students for a semester.
Your Donation of $400 will provide scientific materials for four classes engaged in Birds of a Feather Discover Together semester-long curriculum.
